I used to shoot a lot. As in, take-my-camera-to-class and shoot-when-I-have-a-second. It was a lot.

Now, I photograph for work, and hardly ever for fun anymore. Boo.

But this weekend, Kyle graciously came on a photo-scouting slash photo-practice sesh with me at 6:30 a.m.

The light was perfect and magical and it was a blast shooting my best friend

 

oh and we took Blue with us. He worked that camera

The Cotton Candy Girls: logo

Every once in a while, a design project comes up that I just cannot stop working on! This is definitely one of those projects! Some adorable little girls in our neighborhood are putting together a Cotton Candy Stand for the summer (I know, right?!) and I got to work making a logo for their up-and-coming business.

Expect a blog post soon of their adorable stand (picture a pink cotton candy machine, aprons and a pendant banner!)

Here’s their lil’ logo, to match their aprons of course!

I just had so much fun with this project! It’s so youthful, girly and summery! Here are some mockups we didn’t end up going with…which one is your favorite?

Dating Divas Giveaway!

I am thrilled to be working with the lovely Dating Divas, and most of all, to be designing for all of their wonderful readers! I stumbled across the Dating Divas website right after coming home from my honeymoon – and I fell in love (again)! The best part about teaming up with the Divas is I can use the printables I design on my OWN dates! So fun!

 

Since designing my own invitation suite, I can’t seem to stop! I love working with brides and designing a custom look that is unique to each wedding. One of my favorite invitations was the Vera Wang-inspired flower design. The custom flower sketch is specific to the bride and I love the vintage, romantic feel of the suite. Another favorite of mine is the “Kate and Steve” invitation suite. The invitation is modern and bold, with the strong typeface and white space, contrasted with the whimsical “Kate” and romantic color scheme.

Besides all things wedding, I design logos, business cards, party invitations, brochures and just about anything you can think of! I love sitting down with each client and collaborating to create the perfect piece. There is nothing better than a client coming back and saying, “I have gotten SO many compliments on this piece!”

In my own invitation suite, I included our “love story” as a special piece. Our guests loved getting to know us as a couple better, and it was such a fun component to our wedding! We still cherish this story, because it is timeless to us and will never change. As a married couple, many of you can look back and remember your “love story” – where you met, how you met, who said “I love you” first! I’m sure that story is near & dear to your heart – I know mine is! I love looking back and remembering how my sweetheart and I finally became husband and wife!
